The Blessing of Herbs on the Feast of the Assumption

The blessing of herbs is a Catholic tradition that started after Our Lady’s Assumption into Heaven, when the Apostles found her tomb empty and covered with fragrant flowers and herbs. By blessing herbs, we remember that day, surrender one more area of our lives under His power, and seek God’s healing graces.  To have your herbs blessed (dry or fresh), please place them on the table in front of the first pew early (at least 20 minutes before Mass) on Thursday, August 15th.
