First Communion Schedule

Past

First Confessions will be heard on Saturday, April 6th from 9:45 -10:45 am (during Holy Hour). Candidates will make their First Communion on Sunday, May 5th. A photocopy of the First Communion candidate’s Baptismal certificate should be submitted to Father Reid’s secretary, Mrs Erpenbeck, before the ceremony.

The Veiling Tradition

THE VEILING TRADITION   Veiling of religious images with violet during Passiontide   For 1500 years the church has veiled the altar (Hunger Cloth)  and all images except Stations of the Cross as an extra  penance for the eyes.   This is still done starting on Passion Sunday, in fitting with the  last words of the day’s reading
